Leads Scroll’s work on how reported information is structured, used and preserved as news consumption becomes increasingly AI-mediated.

• Architecting the Liquid Content Engine, a multimodal versioning system that turns a single reported story into different formats and interfaces while maintaining fidelity to the source.
• Building Trusted Workspace, a personalised, annotatable environment for original journalism, trusted context and auditable comprehensiveness. It is built on a stable system of record.
• Developed the News Atom, a sentence-level metadata blueprint for representing journalism’s knowledge layer for machines, during a 2025 fellowship at the Reuters Institute, University of Oxford.
• Built The Directory of Liquid Content, a taxonomy of the structural building blocks through which digital news is produced, distributed and experienced, as a 2024–25 ICFJ Knight Fellow.
• Writes and maintains Scroll’s AI policy. Designs evaluation and red-teaming methods for accuracy, attribution, provenance and bias.
• Leads the development and testing of AI products across Scroll’s reporting, archive and consumer experiences.

Built and led Scroll’s 25-person digital video newsroom, developing its documentary, explanatory and platform-native video products.

• Created and presented Eco India, Scroll’s climate video vertical and weekly documentary series with Deutsche Welle. Executive-produced more than 300 films.
• Built and led a bilingual daily news-explainer product for Disney+ Hotstar (200 million users). The project won WAN-IFRA Gold for Best Use of Online Video.
• Led development and research of a Netflix-greenlit documentary series on India’s Emergency.
• Grew Scroll’s Facebook-native video output to 30 million monthly views and its YouTube audience from under 100 to approximately 500,000 subscribers.
• Chaired Scroll’s Internal Complaints Committee from 2018 to 2024.

Built and led television projects across breaking news, prime time and long-form features. Reported and produced work on governance, politics, world affairs, child rights, environment, health, science and technology.

Advises WAN-IFRA’s AI in News Media initiative on strategic priorities, industry developments and best practices.
